WHAT TO INCLUDE

A DJ invoice that gets paid.

Every UK invoice needs a unique number, your name and address, the client’s name and address, the date, a description of the work, the amount and how to pay. Then for DJs:

  1. 01

    Quote their PO number

Corporate accounts teams match invoices to purchase orders. Put the reference in the notes.

  2. 02

Set times, not just a date

Start and finish times explain the fee and settle any overtime question.

  3. 03

    Extras on their own lines

Lighting, a second system or an MC mic are easy to approve when listed separately.

  4. 04

    Residency? Invoice monthly

List each date on one monthly invoice so a cancelled night is easy to spot.

Practical answers about invoicing as a DJ.

The complete guide to DJ gig payments
What should a DJ invoice include?

Your name and address, the client’s legal name and address, a unique invoice number, the date and set times, each service and its price, payment terms and your bank details.

How do I charge overtime as a DJ?

Agree an hourly overtime rate in the booking, then add it as its own line with the extra time.

How do I save this DJ invoice as a PDF?

Fill in the form, then choose Save as PDF. Your browser’s print window opens with only the invoice on the page; pick “Save as PDF” as the destination. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Is there a faster way to do this every time?

Yes. StagePay remembers your details, your clients and your usual lines, so a DJ invoice takes about twenty seconds on your phone, and it tracks which invoices have been paid. It is free to start.
